Painters in Nashville TN Talk on Interior Painting

Nashville Residential painterWhen it comes to painters in Nashville TN, we’ve found the best of the best. He goes by Jesse and he’s known for his amazing interior painting. In fact unlike most painters Jesse is a master at all forms and phases of interior painting. That means he can do everything from cabinetry painting to bathroom painting and even entire kitchen remodeling. It’s because of his extensive experience that we decided to interview him on the topic of painting in Nashville Tennessee.

House Painting in Winter

The first thing we asked Jesse about is what it’s like house painting in cold climates. Very often winter is referred to as the “slow season” for contractors, but especially for painters. Here’s what Jesse had to say:

There really isn’t such a thing as a slow season for painting contractors in Nashville. It’s all in the mindset you take on. For me, every season is a good season to paint. Although it typically takes a bit longer to dry paint when it’s cold outside, that doesn’t mean it won’t dry. It just means it takes longer. I definitely get a lot of work done in winter.

The statement from Jesse is very unusual for a painter, but we see his point. While most painting companies are taking off over the winter, Jesse is on fire and ready to get some work done. It’s his passion for painting that generates the leads he’s after.

Exterior House Painting

We asked Jesse the same question again, but as it applies to exterior house painting in the winter. While most painters are not getting work in the winter, exterior painting is notorious for not happening in cold seasons. Here’s what Jesse had to say:

Really, it’s just not possible to paint the exterior of a house when it gets into freezing temperatures. You can paint all you like, but the paint just won’t dry until spring time. Unfortunately it just isn’t worth the wait. You’re actually likely to damage your home if you try to paint the exterior at below freezing temperatures. I’d highly recommend waiting until spring or summer.

We couldn’t agree with Jesse more. Any painting company that says they’ll paint the exterior of your house in the middle of the winter is either extremely advanced in their painting methods, or extremely desperate for money.

Although tools exist to assist in heating a painted area (such as heat lamps),  there just isn’t enough to handle an entire house. So don’t trust a painter who makes claims that they’ll get the job done right in the snow season.

Home Interior Painting

Next we asked Jesse about home interior painting. He told us that painters can handle a house interior any time of the year. Unfortunately people aren’t calling for work as much over winter, but they can absolutely get the interior of their house painted.

If you’re ever in the Nashville area, make sure to give Jesse a call. He’s a great guy and does great work. He’ll be happy to help you with all your painting needs, whether residential, commercial or otherwise.

Tennessee House Painters – The Volunteer State Home Improvement

Nashville TennesseeThere’s been a boom in real estate in the state of Tennessee over the course of the last 6 years, and it’s speculated to only get better. In particular, Davidson county is home to the largest competition of house painters in the country due to the large influx of people who have migrated to Nashville TN. That’s what brings us to this point: Tennessee house painters are making a fortune where they’ve managed to get exposure.

When it comes to the state of Tennessee, the humid weather in the summer, and the harsh winters have a tendency to take a toll on homes across the beautiful state. This means business for house painters who have an expertise in exterior house painting.

For the average Tennessee painter, a home exterior can be stripped or cleaned, prepped and painted over the course of anywhere from 3 to 5 days and pull in a good $2,000 – $10,000 for the labor and equipment. Although that’s typical for just about any house painter, there’s more to this when you consider that on a yearly basis a large majority of the land covering Davidson county is being bought and used to build new homes to accommodate the many people who are moving in town.

Now, factor in the possibility of 20,000 homes in Tennessee have been built and you can see that the demand for painters has increased significantly in comparison to any other city. If there’s 100 painters in the city of Nashville and 8,000 new homes built, that equates to 800 homes per painter (of course those figures are just made up, but you get the idea).

Given the above mentioned statistics, you can see why house painters hold so much competition in Nashville and Davidson county TN. Everybody wants all the work! However it’s important to know that some of the guys who are getting all the work are trying to hire new help. It’s fortunate that the painting industry doesn’t require much education or practice.

When it comes to home improvement, painting is one of the easiest and fastest ways to make money because it doesn’t necessarily require formal education and training. Although that may come across as a somewhat mean statement toward painters in America, it’s true. However, that doesn’t mean to say an uneducated person will excel in painting. In fact, formal training and education in the field of painting is important in order to produce a competent painter.

Unlike plumbing and electrical, painting is much less likely to create a life-threatening situation if done incorrectly. So in Nashville it’s very easy for a person to pick up a paintbrush and a bucket and call themselves a painter. That’s why it’s important to go with a painter who has had some training. This can usually be verified through online reviews or recommendations. Of course if the painter is licensed, that usually says a lot about where they’re at professionally.

With that being said, if you’re a contractor who is struggling to make money in your city, move to Nashville and take advantage of the booming real estate.
